A Tradition of Hockey Excellence.

The Bob Johnson youth hockey school offers one summer session in Vail, CO. School participants will be divided into three groups with each group receiving three “on ice” sessions daily (minimum of 3 hours “on ice”per day). In addition, a daily video & lecture session will be presented by the coaching staff. Special individual instruction times will be provided for goalies. Top qualified instructors will aid in developing and improving hockey skills. Fundamentals of power skating, shooting, passing and stick handling will be emphasized as well as sportsmanship and team work. All players, regardless of ability, will see equal action in camp hockey games.

We feature 3 hour long on-ice sessions daily plus a lecture/teaching session for each group. On ice hour one will focus only on power skating and all aspects of this critical fundamental. Our coaches are very experienced in this area and are wonderful skating instructors - skating will improve quickly. On ice hour two consists of team aspects of the game including but not limited to breakouts, positioning 2 on 1's & 3 on 2 strategies, odd man rushes, defensive positioning and all aspects of team play. Our coaching staff is extremely qualified in this area. On ice hour three is focused entirely on the non-skating fundamentals of the game - stick handling, passing, shooting, checking, etc. The coaching staff is well-versed in these critical aspects of the game - you will see marked improvements in these areas by the end of our week together.

The free shuttle bus travels throughout the Vail area and stops directly in front of the arena. Parking facilities are also available adjacent to the arena.
