Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe! As this is a very fluid and constantly changing environment, we wanted to update you on our current plan for the BJHS 2020 in Vail and Aspen.
Due to health department restrictions, we will have to make some adjustments to the program this year. We are planning on having a high altitude, high intensity, interval training program focusing on skill development this summer (while still making sure it is fun for the kids).
Social distancing requirements of 6 ft will likely preclude us from games, scrimmages, and group drills. We will also likely not have locker facilities or lobby gatherings (potentially drop off only). Our current proposal is to have no more than 10 kids on each end of the ice with one coach/side.
We still plan on having Group C from 8 am until noon-ish, Group B from noon-ish until 4-ish, and Group A from 5 pm - 9 pm. With the adjustments for COVID, however, we will need shift to more individualized instruction (with a schedule of high intensity on-ice sessions and supervised recovery time) We anticipate each player will receive as much if not more work in this adjusted format (shorter, more individualized skill sessions).
We look forward to being able to modify this format if restrictions are eased in the next few months and we look forward to returning to our usual format in the summer of 2021.
